Weddings

Congratulations!!

I’m sure we are not the first to say it, but if you are visiting this page you have probably just got engaged. If you are looking for somewhere to get married, here is what you need to do next.

Things to consider

Churches are special and unique places to get married in - the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.

A couple can usually marry in St. Peter and St. Paul’s, Fenstanton, if one of the following applies to one of the couple:

  • They live in the parish, or

  • They are on the church electoral role, or

  • They have lived in the parish for at least 6 months of their life (at any time), or

  • They have regularly attended the church for a period of at least 6 months, or

  • They were baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish, or

  • Their parents, at any time after they were born have lived in the parish for at least 6 months or have regularly attended the church for more than 6 months, or

  • One of their parents or grandparents was married in the parish church.

We can offer weddings in St. Mary’s, Fen Drayton, but there is some extra paperwork that would need to be completed, we would be happy to discuss this with you.

What to do next….

Couples planning their wedding in church are asked to contact:

Rev Rosie Tallowin

Email: vicar@fenchurches.org.uk Telephone: 01480 467393

Rev Rosie can go through the relevant paperwork, book dates and answer any questions you may have. With the current list of statutory fees, your marriage service may cost approx £530 with addtional costs for organist, verger and bells.

Do ask for more details!
