Baptisms
Baptisms (often called ‘Christenings’) are a moment of great joy and significance in life.
What is baptism?
For some, it’s happens a baby or young child; for others it’s when we come to faith as an adult. Baptism is an occasion to celebrate the life of the person, and to give thanks to God for them and for God’s love and commitment to them. Baptism is also about being welcomed into God’s family and it marks the beginning of the journey of faith.
The baptism service involves making promises before God, and in the case of a baby or child, these promises are made by the parents and Godparents. It is important to us that you are supported well in understanding what baptism means and the promises that will be made on the day, therefore, we look forward to the opportunity to talk with you and those who you choose as Godparents.
What to do next…..
Baptisms usually take place during our Sunday morning services at either St. Peter and St. Paul’s, Fenstanton or at St. Mary’s, Fen Drayton so that the whole church can welcome you and your loved ones into the church family.
